Baby Update: 7 Months

Joia turned 7 months on December 13th. All of the months seem to be running together with how fast she is growing up.  There are absolutely no more photos taken in the Rock n Play because she’s too big for that & she hardly ever sits still now so it will be interesting to see how her month to month photos will look now.

She has hit so many milestones this month! I am so proud of my baby girl.  My favorite milestone she has hit is…drum roll please….saying mama!  It absolutely made my heart melt the first time she said it.  Yay!  Go Joia!  She’s also crawling like a pro.  She follows me everywhere now…there is no escape! She is into EVERYTHING so we have to watch her every move.  She also is becoming independent and sometimes doesn’t want help doing things.  She is something else!  That’s my boo!

 

She had her first Christmas and that was fun!  Of course she doesn’t understand everything, but she was able to rip up some paper.  She really enjoyed playing with all of her new toys!

I have no clue what her exact weight and height is as she won’t be going back to the doctor until she is 9 months.   She can still fit size 2 diapers, but she is now wearing size 3 since we have officially run out of size 2 diapers. She can still fit some 3 month old clothes depending on the brand.  She is mostly in 3-6 month clothes and 6-9 month clothes now.  Some 3-6 month pants are a little too short so 6-9 month pants is what she wears now.  She can also fit some 12 month pants depending on the brand.  The Garanimals 12 month pants fit her great, but other brands are a tad bit too big for her.

She is drinking 6-8 oz of Similac Advance/Parent Choice throughout the day. She’s eating more baby food now and we’ve moved on to stage 2 foods.  At first, she would only eat about half of the baby food out of the container at each feeding, but now she can eat the entire container.  She also eats some of the food we eat if it’s soft enough for her to try.  She has had some of my mashed potatoes, grits, pasta, mac n cheese, etc.  She loves to eat from our plates even if she has already ate!  She eats very well.  When she tries things for the first time she makes a face like she doesn’t like it…I guess because it’s new to her…but then she wants more.  It’s so funny and cute.  She now eats 3 meals a day.  She seems to want food more now than her milk.  She loves little finger food snacks like the Gerber yogurt melts and puffs.  She can pick them up and put them in her mouth on her own.  She says “mmm” if she thinks something is really tasty!

It’s hit or miss with if she wakes up once through the night or if she sleeps the entire time.  Sometimes she will wake up at least once during the night.  Sometimes it’s for a feeding and other times it’s because she can’t find her pacifier to put it back in her mouth so once I put it back in she goes right back to sleep.  Other times it’s because her pamper needs to be changed and then I give her the pacifier and she’s right back to sleep. She is now being spoiled and is all up in our bed instead of her own!  She will wake up in her pack n play and stand up and shake it because she wants to get out and get in our bed.  Once she’s in our bed…she just goes back to sleep.  Who does she think she is!? Haha.  It’s so easy to just pick her up and put her in our bed especially if she does this at around 3AM and I have to get up for work in the morning.  We are going to break her out of this habit soon because we want our bed back!  She is a wild little sleeper!

Teething
No teeth…ALL gums! Haha…I guess she’ll get her first tooth soon.  She is definitely drooling a bunch more!  She is also gnawing on her hands and all her toys & bibs like crazy!
