Wow. It finally happened. Joia turned 12 months on May the 13th. This has been one amazing year and it has went by super fast. Joia has grown and developed well and I’m so proud of her! There won’t be another update until she returns to the doctor for her 15 month appointment.
Joia is 29.25″ and she weighs 21.11 pounds. She is still in size 3 diapers. She is wearing 12 month clothes. She can also fit some 18 month outfits.
She drinks 2% milk, water, and prune juice. Prune juice mixed with some water has been good to give her since the milk has been making her constipated here and there. She pretty much eats whatever we are eating. I still give her some baby food or toddler meals every now and then. She sometimes spits some food out of her mouth, but I know for a fact that she likes it. Not sure why she does that at times…just to test my nerves I guess haha. She is a pretty good eater other than that. She will still try ANYTHING. She eats 3 meals a day. She still loves to feed herself. She can drink out of a cup now and a straw too.
Unfortunately she is still not out of our bed yet. We are still working on it. She sleeps in her crib sometimes, but not as much as I would like for her too. The night terrors are gone. I will touch on what night terrors are and what to do about night terrors soon.
Her bottom two teeth have finally popped through! When we took her to the doctor for her 12 month check up they still weren’t in, but he said it was fine and that they should come in soon and that she’d also probably have good teeth because they were a little delayed. They are in now and no others have even tried to surface. I can’t ever get a good picture of them!
She hasn’t really said anything new that I can think of except the word STOP, but she is doing a lot of babbling now. She tries to have a conversation in baby talk and we have no clue as to what she is really trying to say unless she points to it or something. It’s hilarious. She is so serious when she babbles to. I can respond to her and she will keep babbling like we are really having a true conversation with each other. She also still LOVES to say the word NO. She says no about everything…even if we ask her if she missed us while she was at daycare or if she loves us LOL. She even says no when she really means yes. It is that bad. I’ll be glad when that stage is over.
– Clap, clap, clap
– No, no
– Night, night
– Bye bye
– Uh oh
Now that she can walk…she loves to run. She loves for you to chase her because she thinks it is so funny. She also loves to play with toys more…especially her big sister’s toys which her sister isn’t too fond of. I don’t think Snapchat will ever get old to her either. There is always some new cool Snapchat filter that she thinks is pretty cool or funny.

My Postpartum Update
Same ol same ol. Everything is fine with me…I’m just being a slacker in the weight department. I have never been a dedicated fitness person, but I’m going to get my life together one of these days LOL I am drinking more water and eating less fast food so that’s a start! I’ve also stopped drinking sodas as much & I’m eating more fruits! PRAY FOR ME! Hehe. The hubs and I are supposed to start working out together this month…Let’s go!
