Now on to the update!
35-37 Weeks Pregnant
Baby is the size of a moderately successful game of Jenga at week 35. At week 36 he’s as big as a tickle me Elmo and at week 37 he’s as big as a Doc Martens boot!
These past weeks I’ve been craving tacos, spicy things, and sweet things too.
I’ve been feeling tired and nauseous. As each week passes by I’m feeling more and more pressure…yep, you know the bowling ball feeling and it hurts a lot every time I get out the bed or out of a chair.
Other Pregnancy Symptoms
Pregnancy brain: One time I almost put the milk in the pantry and the keys in the fridge.
Also, I recently dropped my phone. I totally forgot it was sitting in my lap when I was getting ready to get out of the car and it fell and hit the concrete. The crack isn’t too bad, but I was mad about it LOL I’ve never cracked any of my phone screens before.
And if that’s not enough, I totally forgot to take off my wedding rings before my fingers got swollen so you know what happened? One day I woke up and couldn’t get them off. It wasn’t bothering me or anything but this week it started to. I tried a couple tricks like the dental floss method and it didn’t work and just ended up making my finger even more swollen. I ended up having to go to the jeweler and getting them cut the rings off my finger! We vlogged about it so make sure you check back later this week to see it! Braxton Hicks
My body is definitely preparing for labor as I’ve been having Braxton Hicks now. If you don’t know what Braxton Hicks contractions are, according to the what to expect app, it’s your uterine muscles flexing in preparation for actual labor. So my stomach will get really tight for a few seconds which can get kind of uncomfortable and feel like a light period cramp and then it goes away. It’s not a concern for my midwife unless I have 6 in an hour which I haven’t. Braxton Hicks contractions will get more frequent as I’m closer to my due date though.
35 Weeks Pregnant Doctor’s Appointment
At my doctors appointment last week, I found out I was 3CM dilated and 70% effaced at 36 weeks. With Joia at 36 weeks I was 80% effaced and 3CM dilated and then the next week I was 4CM dilated and 80% effaced. Tomorrow, I’ll find out if I’ve dilated any more or not. I’ll be surprised if I haven’t with all this pressure. If Justin follows in Joia’s footsteps I think he will be here sometime next week! But we shall see.
4D Ultrasound
We had a 4D ultrasound at 32 weeks and 34 weeks. The placenta was in the way at 32 weeks and baby boy didn’t want to move his face so we got to come back at 34 weeks and we saw him much better although he had his hand in his face most of the time. He liked to keep his thumb in his mouth. We even saw him sucking on it. Here are a few pictures. Jordy will upload the ultrasound appointments soon from when we found out the gender til now.
Baby Movement in Third Trimester
Baby is moving like crazy in there! I thought Joia was a wiggle worm, but she has nothing on him! He moves around all day but he really has a part in my belly around 1 or 2 AM.
Welp guys that’s it. I’m almost there! I have 3 weeks or less to go!

Leave a comment on the video below and let me know when you think I’ll have him. Joia came 10 days early. Justin is due on February 8th.
