Letters to Baby: Week 33

Dear baby,

Hi sweetie!  You sure are a little mover in there.  You’re getting super strong and moving around like crazy.  I wonder exactly what you’re doing in there?  Are you running out of room?  I’m guessing you are because we are getting close to your due date.  Sometimes your movement keeps mommy up at night or even wake me up.  Are you going to have your days and nights mixed up when you arrive?  You’re head down which is great.  I hope you stay that way.  You’re now keeping your eyes open while you’re awake!  You have some major brain development going on, your bones are hardening, and you coordinate breathing with sucking and swallowing.  You’re doing a whole lot of growing and developing in there.  Grow baby grow!  The midwife says you’re around 4lbs and she thinks you will be a smaller baby which is fine.  I was 7lbs and so was your daddy.

We went back to the 3D/4D ultrasound place and you didn’t cooperate once again.  This time we didn’t even get to see your face.  You were facing my back so all we were able to see was your hair, back, feet, and hands.  Daddy and I were a little disappointed because we just knew you were going to cooperate this time!  We went to Chick-Fil-A and I got your favorite sweet lemonade and I even at some chocolates.  You were moving before we left Chick-Fil-A, but once we got to the ultrasound place you didn’t move one bit.  I guess you’re just gonna make us wait until you get here huh?  I know you’re worth the wait my love.  Easter was this week and we found your big sister a cute little dress.  She said she felt like a princess!  She sure did look like one.  I can’t wait to dress you up all cute!

I had a lovely baby shower thrown for me at work this week.  It was very nice!  It was a diaper/wipes shower.  You definitely got showered with those things and even a couple of other items.  I received way more than I expected and I’m so thankful for it!  The setup was beautiful and I even got some advice from some other moms.  They can’t wait to see you either!  Everyone wants to see baby Joia.  You are so loved!  The last baby shower is happening tomorrow and I can’t wait to see everyone.  We only have 6 weeks and 1 day to go!  Or maybe it’s less than that…who knows?  All I know is you have been moving around in there like you’re trying to crawl your way out!  We’re not ready for you yet even though we can’t wait to see you.  I at least want to make it to what’s considered full term with you which is around 37 weeks.  Week 39 or 40 would be better though because your daddy graduates when I will be 37 weeks!  I want to see your daddy walk across that stage for all of the hard work he has put in, but you’re going to come when you’re ready.
