Joia turned 9 months on February the 13th and she is steady growing and learning fast. It always amazes me when she does something new. Her personality is definitely continuing to shine bright. She knows who she wants to be around and who she only wants to be around if mommy and daddy are there with her and she can keep her eye on them haha. She is definitely clingy to us more when we are around people she doesn’t see as often. She is beginning to understand the word “no” even though she doesn’t always listen! So she is beginning to comprehend the things we are saying. I love getting to know this little person and being the one to teach her basically everything she knows! Being a mom is such a wonderful experience.

We celebrated her very FIRST Valentine’s Day so that was pretty fun and exciting. I am so loving all of these “firsts” with her.
Growth
She is 26.7 inches long and 20 pounds. She is wearing size 3 diapers. She is mostly in 6-9 month clothes. She can also fit 12 month outfits now as well as some 18 month pants. She is growing so fast!
Feeding
She is drinking 6-8 oz of Similac Advance/Parent Choice throughout the day. She’s still eating stage 2 foods which we just ran out of so I’ll be starting her on stage 3 foods. She usually finishes the whole container at each feeding and then still wants some of our food too. She still loves to try everything we are eating and I mean EVERYTHING. She eats very well and is not picky AT ALL. She eats 3 meals a day. She is much more interested in eating food than she is in drinking her milk still. She’s good at picking food up on her own and putting it in her mouth without my help now. She enjoys feeding herself finger foods. She’s doing better at drinking out of a sippy cup and holding it herself.
Sleeping
It’s hit or miss with if she wakes up once through the night or if she sleeps the entire time. She is still being spoiled because she is STILL all up in our bed…taking up ALL our space. We need a KING bed…nah, we need to just get her out of the bed huh? We are still working on it! She says “night night” now so she knows when it is time for bed.

Teething
No teeth…ALL gums still! She is still drooling like crazy, but no teeth has popped just yet. Maybe we will see some when she hits 10 months maybe.

This is a couple of weeks before she turned 9 months…but she has that same pretty smile with not one tooth there yet 🙂
Speech
She says a lot more than just “mama” and “dada” now. She says “mama” more…yay! She now knows how to say “hey”, “clap clap clap”, “night night”, “get!”, “baba”, and she’s working on saying “dog”…she’s almost got it!

Playing
She loves to play and laugh. If you put down a bunch of toys on the floor she will crawl to the ones she wants and play with it. “Wheels on the bus” is her absolute favorite song ever! She loves to sing and clap her hands to any song. She is love with this Mickey Mouse app I put on my phone. Maybe I’ll talk more about that in a different post and share some of her favorite toys. She is in absolute looove with our dog Simba. She thinks he is absolutely hilarious and loves to be near him. She will crawl fast just to get near him and sit beside him. They are too cute!

My Postpartum Update
Same ol same ol. Everything is fine with me…I’m just being a slacker in the weight department. I have never been a dedicated fitness person, but I’m going to get my life together one of these days LOL I am drinking more water and eating less fast food so that’s a start! I’ve also stopped drinking sodas & I’m eating more fruits! PRAY FOR ME! Hehe

What could your baby do at 9 months?

They grow up so quickly! I don’t have any human kids but I’m always fascinated by the things other people’s kids are learning and stages of development!
She’s adorable! I hope the teething process goes smoothly.
ZOMG, there is nothing better than babies and animals together. When she grows up, they are going to be the best of friends (and it looks like they’ve already started!

Joia is one adorable baby! Her smile is so infectious and you can’t help smiling back! And the “snack” pic with Simba peeking around is priceless.
I bet it is a lot of fun watching her grow. I always love hearing my sister’s stories about how my two nephews are growing, developing their own personalities, and learning what they do and do not like.
