Art is Relaxing! Try Adult Coloring!

Adult coloring is very popular these days, but I’ve always loved to color. I remember coloring with my grandma was one of my favorite activities as a child. Coloring can be so relaxing after a long day. Sometimes I steal a page or two from my daughter’s coloring book and color away. There are also a few coloring apps that I love to use on my iPad. Here’s a recent coloring page I did of Lady from the movie Lady and the Tramp.

Today is National Coloring Book Day so take a second and get your color on! It’s been said that Adult coloring is good for you and helps with stress so why not do some coloring? There are a ton of adult coloring books out there too if you don’t want to steal pages from your kid’s coloring books. You’d probably enjoy the adult coloring books way more too.

Learning to Paint

Coloring was always my thing and I never really tried to paint. I always thought I had to be super artistic to paint which I’m not AT ALL. I wish I could draw and all that jazz, but oh well I guess I’m good at other things right? If you want to paint, but think you wouldn’t be very good at it…I suggest you try one of those group painting classes. I have went to Paint Nite locally for my birthday and also went to a Sip and Paint event at the BlogPaws Conference. It was absolutely shocking how good my paintings turned out without any skills at all.

The painting instructor goes step by step with you and it’s so cool to see everyone’s painting at the end of the class. Everyone’s painting is unique even though you all were looking at the same painting. You should definitely try it if you haven’t before. I had a blast and have a nice piece of artwork to call my own.
