Joia turned 11 months on April the 13th which is my birthday. Yup, she turns 1 exactly a month after my birthday. I love it! I can’t believe she will turn 1 TOMORROW! Her first birthday is on Friday the 13th! How COOL is that? Yes, cool. I love the number 13 because I was born on the 13th and I consider 13 to be an awesome number and not a bad one! I will make sure she feels the same. So if someone ever comes at her with “OMG your birthday falls on Friday the 13th”…she will love it just like her mommy. She has hit her BIGGEST milestone yet and I am so proud of her. I think I may just shed a thug tear on her birthday. Yup, I will probably be a little emotional. I’m so happy she’s growing up, but sad at the same time. Mom Life.

Growth
I’m not sure what her height and weight is as she hasn’t been to the doctor in a while. She is still wearing size 3 diapers. She is wearing 12 month clothes. She can also fit some 18 month outfits. She is growing so fast!

Feeding
We have started her on cow’s milk as her doctor said we could when she turned 11 months. We give her 2% milk. She’s eating stage 3 foods, but now she has started spitting the chunks out of her mouth at times. I’m not sure why she’s doing that…maybe she doesn’t like the texture now all of a sudden? Other than that…she eats pretty well. She will still try ANYTHING. She eats 3 meals a day. She is eating more of what we eat than baby food. She loves to feed herself. She is still much more interested in eating food than she is in drinking her milk. She is officially off the bottle and only drinks from her sippy cups now.

Sleeping
She still isn’t fully out of our bed yet. I admit it…we have been slacking on getting her completely out of it. I enjoy my sleep especially since I have to get up early for work and it’s just so much easier for her to be right there instead of constantly getting up and going into her room. Since she turns one tomorrow…I am going to work harder on having her in her own crib. Hopefully she’ll be sleeping on her own in the next month or so.
Something new has been happening for a couple of days now with her sleep and it was actually pretty scary at first. She seems to be experiencing night terrors. I will touch more on that in a separate blog post.

Teething
Still no teeth! Nope, not a single peg. She is pegless. All gums. I thought she may get a peg or two before her birthday, but I guess not. I know for sure that her gums are hurting more because she chews on EVERYTHING…even ME. My poor Tink.

Playing
Joia still loves to play. She will play with ANYTHING. She is super obsessed with tags. Tags on a shirt, on a pillow, on a toy, ANY TAG! She loves to be tickled. She loves to be chased. She loves to be silly and for you to be just as silly with her. She also plays with ALL of her toys now and love things that she can sit on and and bounce or ride on. She also has started playing with Jor Jor toys as well and y’all know Jor Jor ain’t feeling that! Snapchat is her new toy. She has just figured out how to make the different Snapchat filters do different things. My baby is so smart! I loves her!
