Letters to Baby: Week 12

Dear baby,

Hello in there!  Today was absolutely amazing.  Your dad and I got to hear your heartbeat for the very first time.  It was absolutely amazing.  Your heartbeat was definitely music to our ears.  I can’t wait to hear it again.  It’s the most beautiful thing that I have ever heard.  Hearing your heartbeat makes it even more real to me.  Seeing you move around was really something, but to get to hear your heartbeat is just awesome.  I can’t wait to see you on ultrasound again.  I bet you’ve gotten so big.  I will see you again real soon.  The next time we see you we will know your gender.  That is…if you’re cooperating.  I think you will!  I was told to drink something sweet to get you moving around.  I will drink some juice just like I did before the last ultrasound and maybe even eat a fruit cup too.  You’re already such a little wiggle monster so I don’t think we will have a problem with you moving around…maybe the problem will be keeping you still enough to see if you’re our little prince or our little princess!

Everyone is really excited to find out your gender.  We are going to have a little gender reveal get together with family and a couple of close friends.  Some have tried to guess what you are based on your heart rate and other old wives tales.  I honestly have no idea what you could be.  I don’t really have a feeling that you are definitely a girl or a boy.  I have had a few dreams that you were a boy, but that’s probably only because your dad and I would like to have a boy.  We don’t care if you’re a girl though.  We will be just as happy and I will also have a mini me!  Your dad will have to get used to all of the females in the house, but he said Simba and he will hold it down!  Haha isn’t he cute.  It’s quite funny that your dad’s parents was hoping he’d be a girl and my parents were hoping I’d be a girl.  As you can see they didn’t get what they hoped for LOL.  They still love us just the same, but they didn’t want to try again for a girl or boy.  I think we will probably have one more in the future regardless if you’re a boy or not, but it will definitely be after you have been potty trained and walking that’s for sure!

The second trimester begins tomorrow and I can’t be more excited!  Hopefully that means less nausea and more energy.  We will see how it goes little baby.  Please give mommy a break with the nausea and tiredness and let me feel some flutters of your movement soon!  I think that’s a good trade.  What do you think?  Hopefully you agree soon.  I already feel much better than I did in the beginning so that’s good.  I can’t wait to see you in two weeks!  Mommy and daddy can then call you by your name instead of Baby Chambers when we rub my belly and talk to you.  See you soon!
