Week April 25 – May 1
Week 36 Pregnancy Photo
Got my hair done! I am officially labor ready. I love this hairstyle because there isn’t much maintenance to it. It’s quick and easy which is what I need during labor and what I need for a few weeks while getting used to our new addition being here.
How far along am I?
36 weeks
How big is the baby?
The size of a honeydew.
How much weight have I gained?
Pre-pregnancy weight: 130lbs Current weight: 150lbs (down 2lbs)
I’ve gained a total of 20lbs so far.
*I will update after every doctor’s appointment as their scale is more accurate than the one at home.
Doctor’s Appointment Update
The doctor’s appointment went fine. My weight and blood pressure are good. Baby’s heartbeat is good at around 145 BPM still. My belly is measuring 36 weeks and is right on target. I am now 3cm dilated and 80% effaced! I know, I know…I could be stuck here for a while OR baby could come at any time at this point. Last week the midwife said that she doesn’t think I’ll make it to my due date of May 23rd. I asked her if she think I would make it to the hubs graduation on May 7th and she said….maybe….maybe not LOL and if I do she doesn’t think it’ll be much longer after that, that baby Joia will be here! Wow…so that means she could be here as early as May 3-May 10! How exciting! I wonder if she’s going to come then or is she just fooling us all? Only time will tell.
Maternity Clothes?
Yes. I have some maternity jeans and shirts. I’m also wearing a lot of my maxi dresses and other dresses that I had before pregnancy. They still fit fine for the most part.
Stretch Marks?
None yet. I’m using cocoa butter and lotion to help prevent.
Movement?
Lots! It’s really starting to hurt now and be very uncomfortable. It’s like she’s rolling around in there. She does this weird movement that makes my belly look super weird and it huuuurts!
Exercise?
NOPE LOL. I’m going to start walking soon and doing zumba to help get the baby out of here if she doesn’t come soon on her own.
How am I sleeping?
I’m not getting much sleep due to a very active baby and how uncomfortable I am from pressure, weight of my belly, and my aching back.
My best moment this week
My husband finishing up school and getting a new job in his field!
Do I miss anything?
Being able to get some good sleep and not feeling tons of pressure.
Belly button in or out?
It has officially popped! It’s so weird!
Wedding ring on or off?
My engagement ring is OFF! I put it up. My wedding band is off now too!
Food cravings?
Pizza!
What am I eating?
I’m eating pretty much the same things, but trying to add in more fruits, veggies, and fiber! I’ve been doing better with my water.
How do I feel? Symptoms?
TIRED! Trouble sleeping. More and more braxton hicks. Period like cramping. Shortness of breath. Back aches. Stomach itching. Sore boobs. Pressure…lots of pressure. Baby brain. HOT…and I’m usually cold. Finger joints hurting. Slight swelling in fingers and feet.

Easily annoyed!
What am I looking forward to?
My wedding anniversary and husband’s graduation!

I do love having my hair in braids like this BUT I hate how long it takes to get done. Beyonce also had her hair like this when she had Blue Ivy 🙂
I can’t wait to see the post when bub arrives!!! Also looking forward to hearing about Simba’s reaction and learning from how the family dynamic changes.
