Hair Love Short Film + Blue Ivy Narrates the Audiobook!

Hair Love is something that I try to teach my girls on a regular basis.  It’s the main reason I started my own natural hair journey a few years ago.  I wanted them to be able to look at someone close to them with hair just like theirs and love everything about it.  It’s so important for little black girls to love the skin they’re in and love their natural hair.

Natural hair is AMAZING!  There are so many things you can do with it and so many different types and textures that are all beautiful.

It’s so good to see a book where the dad is featured with his baby girl!  There are not many books for kids featuring dads that are out there so I really appreciate this one.

The Hair Love story definitely makes me think of the relationship the hubs shares with our girls.  I just love to see them spending time together.  He has also styled both of our girl’s hair several times before which I think is the cutest thing!  This book is definitely a must-read and a great gift for a father and daughter that they can read together over and over again.

Hair Love by Matthew A Cherry

Baby girl absolutely loves this book! She picked it out to read the other night for her bedtime story and she was all smiles.  It’s an easy read and the illustrations by Vashti Harrison are amazing! I just love her work.  Baby girl loved the story as I’m sure it reminded her of her own hair and the relationship she has with her dad.  She thought the book was hilarious and sweet and so did I.  I’m sure she’ll be picking this out as a bedtime story over and over again.

Purchase Hair Love

The Hair Love Book is currently on sale! You can currently get the hardcover book for only $10.96 instead of the regular price of $17.99. We definitely think you should add this lovely book about natural hair for kids to your bookshelf. Click HERE to purchase.

Watch the Hair Love Full Short Film

Watch the hair love short film in full below! Originally, it was only available in theaters before the Angry Birds 2 movie. Now, it’s available to watch by Sony Pictures! It’s just as adorable as Hair Love book.  The girls love this sweet story.

The Hair Love short film is not exactly like the book, but it’s definitely still heartwarming and may even make you shed a tear.  It really is amazing!  We love the book and the short film.  The team for Hair Love really did an amazing job with teaching little girls and maybe even some adults about embracing their natural hair.
