Pet Dental Health Tips
Taking the same care for your dog as you would your own oral health is easy, thanks to PEDIGREE® DENTASTIX® Fresh Treats for Dogs. With DENTASTIX® Fresh Treats for Dogs, pet owners can easily help clean their dog’s teeth and keep their breath fresh, because these treats are clinically proven to reduce tartar buildup by up to 80%* when fed daily.
Here are some quick and easy oral health care tips for dog owners:
- Feed one DENTASTIX® Treat (either Original or new Fresh variety) a day for maximum effectiveness. They taste great and their chewy texture helps clean down to the gum line. Look for PEDIGREE® DENTASTIX® Treats and their patented “X” shape design in the dog food aisle.
- Brush your dog’s teeth regularly and check your dog’s mouth for signs of gum disease—like bad breath—or red, swollen gums. Notify your vet if you notice these symptoms.
- Take your dog to the vet on a regular basis—this is imperative for your dog’s oral and overall health. Your vet will look for signs of gum disease, provide treatments, and recommend an oral care routine.
- Feed your dog a proper diet— All complete and balanced foods—whether they be dry or canned—provide proper levels of calcium and phosphorous to maintain healthy teeth and bones. Studies also show that incorporating dry foods into your dog’s diet can help to reduce plaque and tartar from accumulating on the teeth.
- Avoid feeding your dog table scraps – not only do table scraps give your dog extra calories without the nutrition he needs, they can increase the buildup of plaque and tartar on your dog’s teeth, which may eventually lead to other health problems.
*Average reduction was 47%

What do we think of PEDIGREE® DENTASTIX®?
Simba has been using Pedigree Dentastix for about two months now. He absolutely loves the beef flavored treats. He gets really excited when he sees me grab the bag. Pedigree sent us some fresh flavored Dentastix and he loves these just as much as the beef flavored ones we purchased months ago. The treats definitely keep the doggie breath in check, but I also brush Simba’s teeth on a regular basis as well. It’s great that there are treats out there that will also help with our furkid’s teeth and breath!
Where can I get PEDIGREE® DENTASTIX®?
You can buy them online or find them at a pet store. Find out more about Pedigree Dentastix here.

We have had those Dentastix on occasion, but they are rather expensive for larger dogs to have regularly and with our teeth brushing our teeth are good, but those things are tasty!

Yes, I smooch my 2 pooches. I keep their mouths clean by giving them greenies or dentastix to chew on. They don’t like the teeth-brushing routine.

Truth is that we don’t do much about the dog breath situation beyond buying Greenies sometimes (is it wrong to mention that here?); and yes a LOT of dog kissing goes on in our family.

I brush my dog’s teeth and make sure he eats good quality food for a proper diet! 🙂

Awesome giveaway! I give things to Shiner for her to chew on, but don’t keep up with her teeth like I should. She could use some of the stuff in this basket!

I used to be better about brushing my dog’s teeth, but have gotten out of the habit. I do rely on rawhide chews to help with tartar.
Josephine D says
My dogs get dog bones and rawhides to help keep their teeth tarter free. They also get their teeth brushed though probably not as often as they should. This basket is full of wonderful things that I think my pups would love to try.
