Virginia is for lovers, but it’s a great place to take the kids too! Make sure to go back with just you and your honey because Virginia Beach is super romantic when you’re alone. Today it’s all about the kids though! Virginia Beach has become one of our favorite places to visit. The hubs and I took the kids to Virginia Beach for the first time and they absolutely loved it! There are so many other things we wanted to do, but we’ll have to plan those things later when we take a longer trip.
Kid Friendly Hotels in Virginia Beach
We lucked up and found the perfect kid friendly hotel while browsing the web. Our family beach trip was totally last minute, but Priceline saved the day. With Priceline you can save up to 60% on a hotel and they guarantee the lowest price. I’m all about saving those coins! We stayed at Holiday Inn & Suites North Beach which became our favorite family hotel to date. The hotel offered awesome amenities that we couldn’t get enough of which were:
- Inside pool with lazy river and hot tub
- Outside pool with slides
- 48 seat movie theater
- Children’s activity center
- 3 Restaurants
- KIDS EAT FREE
The food at the Square Whale restaurant at the hotel was yummy. The fact that the kids were able to eat free was a plus. I always love a great view from the room and our oceanfront view was beautiful! Our spacious and cozy room was shared with friends and their kids. The staff was amazing. Access to the beach and boardwalk was easy. The pools and hot tub was love!
What I didn’t like about the hotel was that it is not pet friendly. That’s an issue for us as our dog is apart of our family too! We didn’t plan on taking Simba this time around because it wasn’t enough room for him, but if we decide to bring him next time we would have to find a pet friendly hotel. If you can’t take your dog with you check out 3 places you can leave your dog while on vacation. We had my brother-in-law come over and feed Simba and let him out while we were away. We also checked in on him with our Petcube (sponsored post) which really comes in handy!
Holiday Inn and Suites North Beach is a 2017 Family Vacation Critic favorite and I can see why! For everything that is included with your stay and the value…it is amazing! Everyone had an awesome time at this hotel and we will definitely be staying here again as a family. Here’s a list of family friendly hotels in Virginia Beach.
Things for Kids to Do in Virginia Beach
There are plenty of things for kids to do in Virginia Beach from mini golf to the aquarium. We only stayed for two days and one night as it was a last minute short family trip, but we did get to enjoy the Atlantic Fun Park, the beach, and our hotel amenities. The kids absolutely loved the beach. It’s a beautiful beach and our oldest daughter loves jumping over the waves and running away from them. Our baby girl absolutely hates the beach water because it was far too cold for her, but she loved all of the sand! Playing with sand is her favorite thing to do and the beach was a huge sandbox for her. I loved laying back and relaxing with the hubs. Virginia Beach is a beautiful beach for awesome family photo opportunities. We took beautiful photos and captured awesome video for great family memories.
The Atlantic Fun Park was lots of fun for the kiddies! There are plenty of rides and food to enjoy. I’m not big on rides so I didn’t get on anything. NO not even the Ferris Wheel. I hate being up high so I’m good on that. My baby girl was a trooper though and rode plenty of rides with her big sister. I thought she would be afraid to get on some rides, but she wasn’t scared of anything. She even wanted to get on some big kid rides, but of course she couldn’t do that. I was so proud of how she handled all of the rides and how helpful her big sister was.
