We are happy to be able to review the Pic-Pet Camera app! As you all know, Simba doesn’t mind taking pictures at all and a lot of you think he’s somewhat like a dog model because of how good his pictures come out! Pic-Pet Camera sent us an app store voucher code so that we could try the app ourselves for free in return for a fair and honest review. We love testing out new pet apps and sharing them with you guys!
About Pic-Pet Camera App
Pic-Pet Camera helps you to take awesome pictures of your pets! Have you ever had trouble getting your pet to sit and actually look at your camera when trying to take a photo? Well, Pic-Pet Camera helps you with that issue! The app emits a special sound that attracts the attention of your pet and then snaps a picture. Now you don’t have to make all kind of weird noises or use a pet toy to snap a quick, but nice picture of your pet. Pic-Pet Camera states that the pictures you take with their app are not your average pet photos — your friend will look curious, attentive and has his eyes fixed directly onto the camera. This app is not only for dogs or cats either! They are are currently working on horses, snakes, birds, hamsters, rabbits, and more!
Do We Like Pic-Pet Camera App?
We like it! It’s very simple to use and the three dog sounds they have available for dogs all get Simba’s attention! We are going to share with you how to use the Pic-Pet Camera App and what settings seemed to work well when taking photos of Simba.
Once you open the app all you have to do is click on “Pic-Dog” or “Pic-Cat” to begin. I chose “Pic-Dog” because Simba is a dog of course, but if you choose “Pic-Cat” it looks the same except the settings are different because you will have sounds that interest cats to choose from instead of sounds that interest dogs.
You click the gears button to change the settings to whatever you’d like. The settings allow you to change the timer setting from 2 secs up to 30 secs. There are 3 dog sounds to choose from. You can play each sound to see which one you’d like to select. I suggest playing each sound for your pet to see which one gets their attention the most. I think Simba likes Dog Sound 3 the most which sounds like a. You simply drag the circle for the time you want the timer to be set at and click the dog sound you would like and tap save. I set my timer to 2 or 4 secs so that I could snap quick photos.
Make sure you have your pet where ever you’d like to snap the photo and then click the camera button in the middle of the app. The selected sound will play, your pet will hopefully look directly at your phone and once the time is up from whatever you set the timer to, the app will take the photo.
You will then be able to tap the window on the left to see the full size of the photo you have taken. You then have the option to tap the camera button at the top right of the screen to save the photo. Tap again and you will return to the camera screen to snap more photos. Neat right?
One thing that I didn’t like is that the sound is not a continuous sound being played. The sound only plays once and then the picture snaps. I think the app would be more effective if the sound continuously played until the picture snapped. Sometimes the sound would capture Simba’s attention for a second, but he’d turn his head right before I was able to capture his picture! If the sound kept playing it would keep his attention a little longer. Other than that I think the app does it’s job because it definitely captures Simba’s attention and as you can see below he is quite alert because his ears are up in each photo even if he’s not looking at the camera.
One other thing I didn’t care for was that you MUST click on the photo in the left corner and then click the save button in the top right of the app in order to save the picture you just snapped. So if you just keep quickly snapping photos they won’t be saved unless you go and save each one every time you snap a photo. It’s not THAT big of a deal, but you just have to remember to go and save it or you can lose your great shot! This is a fairly new app so I believe updates to the app will happen overtime as with all apps to improve and make it an even better app.
Overall I think this is a good app for a beginner trying to capture some cute quick snapshots of their pet. The app is very easy to use and you’re bound to get a couple of cute photos of your pet that you weren’t previously able to get because you couldn’t keep the attention of your pet.

Cute dog pictures indeed! I am cell phone challenged and would not know the first thing about an App on my phone. Something I need to learn, I suppose!

This sounds interesting-when I take pics of fosters or other people’s dog I have to make up random and odd noises to get their attention if they are too distracted to eat or take treats.

So many cute pictures!
OMC. It’s almost impossible to get good pics of the new guy. He doesn’t want to look at the camera, except for his signature shot – upside down and backyards yoga cat, which is adorable and his best pose. I could probably get a lot of pics of a grey blur – when he’s in turbo kitty mode. =^..^=
