I was doing some unrelated pet shopping and still came across so many dog things that I wanted to buy! I was at a store called Christmas Tree Shops that offer tons of different things for low prices. I had no idea they had a pet section so of course I was happy when I spotted it and stayed in the section for a little too long. I found this adorable portable pet playpen that I wanted to share with you guys.
This really comes in handy and Simba doesn’t mind being in it at all unless he just really wants to be out and play. I usually have it out in the living room and sometimes I take it into the bedroom so Simba has his own little space and we have ours. I usually don’t have the door zipped up unless I don’t want Simba out right then. He’s usually out and about the apartment all the time, but sometimes he chooses to go in the pet playpen because he does enjoy being in it and his toys are in there as well. It’s kind of like his little room or house. Other times I choose to put him inside the pet playpen and zip it up because I need to get things done. Simba just loves laying all over me when I’m on the computer as if he is telling me to get off of it! LOL. He’s a funny little character.
The portable pet playpen has two openings. One opening is for your pet to go in and out and the other is at the top where you can easily remove your pet.
It’s very easy to fold up and take along with you if you have to go somewhere and don’t want to carry around a bulky dog crate. It will contain your pet when you don’t want it to roam freely around to prevent any accidents or if someone is scared of animals for whatever reason.
It’s great that the portable pet playpen folds up because if you no longer want it out, you can fold it up and put it away without using any real space. It’s well-made and pretty durable. It looks the same as when I took it out of the box. However, it is very light-weight and Simba has turned it upside down or moved it from the spot I have placed it in while he was in it LOL. See, a character. He doesn’t do that anymore because I’ve taught him not to do so, but it definitely can be flipped and moved and everything else by your pet because it’s so light.
The price was $20.00 in this particular store. I’m not sure if there are any more available in that store, but I found a small size portable dog playpen just like it online if you’re in the process of looking for one for the LOW. They also have a large one available as well.
You should definitely check to see if you have Christmas Tree Shops in your area for some pawsome pet finds!
Cool idea if we had a puppy – which I am sure will happen again in our home! Thanks for sharing!

You’re very welcome!
I’m tuned in!! How do you keep him so white?
Thanks, I’m always looking for stuff to make travel with Bandit easier!!
You’re welcome! This is a great product 🙂
That’s a great idea and Simba looks so cute in it. Had thought it might be a great idea when looking after foster puppies but somehow don’t think it would survive their teeth 🙂

Thanks. LOL I’m not sure if it would survive their teeth either. Simba hasn’t really tried to chew at it or anything, but maybe that’s because he has his toys in there with him to chew on and play with.
That looks like a pretty cool thing for a small dog.

They have one for bigger dogs too 🙂
This is so cool. Can Simba get out if he really wants to? I’m considering getting one for our puppy.

Simba tries to get out at times he doesn’t want to be in there like when I put him there because I need to get something done, but he’d rather be laying on me. I tell him to sit or lay down and he does so…so he never has got out. I wouldn’t leave the house and keep him in there because I’m sure he’d destroy it LOL. He’s only in there when we can see him in there and he’s pretty well-behaved in it. The one I bought is for a small dog, but they have ones for larger dogs as well.
What size did you purchase? I have two yorkies, one is an adult teacup (3.8lbs). My latest addition is currently 4lbs but he will be bigger than her. He’s a puppy so I was thinking of using this to crate train him since it’s more comfortable than an actual crate. But I also want it to be useable for both of them.
Would a small fit 2 of them comfortably?
I have 3 yorkies. 5, 8 and 8 lbs and plenty of room – plus they LOVE it.
Yes, I agree with Charlene…the small dog one would work fine for you!

Ooooo, I have the exact same condo too!! 😀 We use it when I go on vacation and stay in hotels! It’s really great, large, and is pretty durable! All in all a great find (but you got it for a waaaaay better rate than we did, hehe!)
LOL nice 🙂

We used one of these for Chowski when we first brought him home and it was amazing! We used it for crate training as I felt it was less harsh looking than a metal crate.
It worked well whilst he was a small puppy and we had the top unzipped for easy access. As he got older he learned how to climb out of it so we zipped up the top and all was good for a while.
As he got bigger though he just managed to chew a hole through the bottom near the door to escape and eventually we had to retire it! But as you said he did like it as a cosy place to go and sit and chew his toys. He loved it with the door open but the minute you zipped him in, he felt trapped! LOL.
So we gave up using it after a while. I kept it though because it’s a really good playpen for small animals like rabbits and guinea pigs!

Yes, yes. It worked when Simba was younger, but I believe ours has a hole in it too so we no longer use it. We use the little portable dog house now https://comewagalong.com/pawsome-find-portable-pet-house/
He loves being able to go in and out of that as he pleases. I definitely think the playpen is more for the puppy stages rather than when the are “teenagers” LOL.
Aww these play pens are way too cute!!!
This is so cool! showing love and care to our pets are best shown by providing them the best comfort we can. Seeing them well cared for is amazing.
