Family Christmas Traditions
I absolutely love this time of year! Everyone is all in the Christmas spirit and filled with Christmas cheer! Beautiful Christmas decorations are everywhere we go and Christmas songs are too. I love it! We are all about family. Family means the world to us and we love to do things with each other. The Christmas season gives us more time to spend with each other. The kids don’t have to go to school or daycare and the hubs and I have a good amount of days off of work. We have started making family Christmas traditions like putting our family ornament on the Christmas tree before any others. Our Christmas tree gets put up on Thanksgiving day or after Thanksgiving. It’s also a family Christmas tradition that we both take a couple of days off of work so that we can enjoy family time.
I’m sure this is how all the kids are gonna be #TheNightBeforeChristmas! Trying to front like they aren’t sleepy and stay up so they don’t miss anything! Like&comment if you agree! Feel free to repost too! #MeetTheChambers #funnymemes

What is The Elf on The Shelf?
The Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas tradition for the entire family. The magical scout elves are Santa’s little helpers (or Parent Clause if you don’t do the whole Santa thing) that make their first appearance to their family’s home between Nov 25-Dec 2. Scout elves help with Santa’s naughty and nice lists by reporting back every night on whether or not your child has been naughty or nice. Santa will use this information to decide whether or not your child gets gifts or coal. Each morning the elf returns to his family (you!) in a different place in the house. That’s where the creativity and the fun comes in for the parents! The kids are not allowed to touch the elf or he will lose his magic. You will explain all of this to your child with the help of the elf and the Elf on the Shelf book. You adopt the elf and the kids will give the elf a name. This is a super fun family Christmas tradition that the kids will love and look forward to the Elf returning each year. Find out more HERE.
The Elf on The Shelf
So we are late on the whole Elf on the Shelf thing. I saw a lot of pictures of the Elf on the Shelf shenanigans last year and thought it would be cool to join in on the fun this year. This will become a new Christmas family tradition for us. We went on a mission last night just to get an elf! Yes, a mission! I shouldn’t have waited until the last minute….I know, I know, but I didn’t even know if we were going to do it for sure. After making up my mind this week, I decided to order the Elf on the Shelf online from Wally world and pick it up after work. It was such a FAIL! They didn’t even have any in stock even though the website said otherwise. The hubs and I had to go to like five different stores just to find the dark skin tone boy Elf on the Shelf that we wanted! Whew! Elf on the Shelf mission completed. You can see all of that madness in our day 1 of Vlogmas.
I had a great idea to include Simba on the whole Elf on the Shelf shenanigans. Be on the lookout for not only creative Elf on the Shelf pictures where the elf is up to something, but he will also be up to something with Simba in the photo as well. You will be able to find our Elf on the Shelf pictures on Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #CWAElfOnTheShelf for Simba’s photos with the elf and #MTCElfOnTheShelf for pictures of the elf and the girls reactions to him. Is the Elf on the Shelf more fun for the kids or the adults? We are gonna have fun putting the elf all over the house and seeing the kids reactions to what he’s up to next.
What is Vlogmas?
We are participating in Vlogmas this year! Vlogmas is basically where you upload a video every single day leading up to Christmas. So that’s 25 videos every day in the month of December. Most people include Christmas type of things in each of their videos like Christmas shopping, Christmas crafts, Christmas decorations and more. I love Christmas! You don’t have to include Christmas type of things in each video, but it makes it fun! Click HERE to get more info on Vlogmas and examples.

We couldn’t put up our traditional tree one year as Silver (our first mountaineering cat), loved the tree and climbed it all the time. We had four decorations that year instead of dozens!!! * sigh * it was a weird Christmas I can tell you.
