How to Setup and Use the Maximus Smart Security Light
Setting up the Maximus Smart Security Light was a breeze for my husband to do. The installation is quite simple and it only needs power for the light fixture. There are no extra wires…all you have to do is just replace your old light fixture. It’s an easy set up with built in WiFi and Bluetooth and it’s easy to link multiple lights to one smart phone with the Kuna app.
Here are a few pictures of our setup. It took my husband about 30 minutes to setup and double check everything was setup correctly.
The Kuna app is free and can be downloaded from the App store or Google Play. With the app you will be able to receive alerts, view live video, and speak directly to those at your door. Captured footage is available for up to two hours so you’ll never miss a moment, even if you can’t get to your phone right away. The app is super easy to use!

What We Think About the Maximus Smart Security Light
We are so happy we have this Smart Security Light by Maximus! Everyone that walks up to our door is just as impressed with it as we are. So many people have asked us about it and we have nothing but good things to say. Our experience installing and using it has been great. Eventually we would like to get one for our backdoor as well. I love the fact that the Maximus Smart Security Light appears to be an ordinary front porch light, but also serves as an outdoor security system equipped with a two-way speaker and HD camera – perfect for making sure the dog walker or pet sitter arrives on time, or at all. The light sends real-time alerts to my iPhone via the Kuna app when motion is detected and allows me to speak to those who are outside directly through the app.
The app also allows us to have a little fun with the different greetings available when motion is detected at our door. There are typical greetings like a chime, or a voice or your own voice that says some sort of message, or even a dog barking. There are different greetings available for different holidays. Right now there is a greeting for Thanksgiving that says “Happy Thanksgiving” along with a turkey gobble. Cute right? In October for Halloween, we were able to greet the trick or treaters with a spooky “Happy Halloween” greeting. You should have saw the looks on some of their faces! Priceless! I can’t wait to hear the greetings for Christmas and New Year’s Day.
The Maximus Smart Security Light Comes in Handy!
The Smart Security Light has even came in handy in ways that I never imagined. For example, I was at the hair salon one day and our oldest daughter was at a slumber party. My husband was supposed to pick her up at a certain time and I called him to remind him, but he wasn’t picking up the phone. I went to the Kuna app to see a live view of the front of my house. Had my husband left the house already? I could see that my husband hadn’t left yet because his car was still in the driveway. Thanks to my Smart Security Light I was able to see that and was able to have someone come over and wake my husband up. I was also able to see when the person arrived at the house to wake him. How cool!
We order things that come to our home a lot so this is another reason it comes in handy. I’m always ordering Simba or the fam something that comes straight to our door. I don’t really have to keep checking the tracking for a package to see if it arrived or not when I’m not at home. The app alerts me when the delivery person leaves the package at my door. I also really like the fact that I can talk to someone that may have stopped by while I’m away and have a live conversation. I can let them know that I’ll be there in a sec or I won’t be home anytime soon. We are really enjoying our Maximus Lighting and we definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a security light for your home.
