I do, I do, I doooo!
I’ve been officially a Mrs. for over a month now. Our honeymoon was lovely and our days together has been just as lovely. I married my best friend. May 3, 2014 is one of the best days of my life! Everything turned out to be absolutely beautiful and all of my stress and worries were over! I felt absolutely beautiful and all of my bridal party had my back! We were very happy with how the day turned out. Everything seemed to happen so fast…several times I just tried to pause for a second and take all the wonderful moments in, but after everything was over it still seemed like such a blur. The moment was definitely over before we knew it, but we enjoyed every second of it. Thankfully, the photos and the video brought us right back to those moments. I am so glad we decided to hire a professional photographer (Amanda Sutton Photography) and my wonderful professional cousin Garrett as the videographer (Byrd’s Eyes Entertainment). After viewing their work, I felt like my wedding just happened yesterday! Yes, it’s that good! I truly thank them for that!
Including a Dog in a Wedding
Dogs in weddings are becoming quite popular. I don’t think people find it weird if a dog is there with his family for one of the most important days of their lives. Did we include our dog in the wedding? Yes, of course! I don’t think our day would have been truly complete if he was not there. Simba is apart of our family so we wouldn’t have it any other way. At first, we weren’t sure if we were going to have him at the wedding or not. We thought about all the negatives like people being afraid of dogs, Simba having an accident at the venue, Simba misbehaving, and more, but the positives definitely outweighed the negatives for us. We felt that EVERYONE that knows us know how much we love dogs and how much we love Simba so we felt that it wouldn’t really be an issue. We also felt that Simba is a very well behaved dog and he could handle being in a new place and being around a few people that he had never been around before. A lot of people have met Simba, but not every single person that would be attending the wedding. I wasn’t really worried about that though. I have an outgoing dog! He loves meeting new people and getting attention from everyone so we knew he’d be just fine. And just fine he was! He did a fantastic job and we are so proud of him.
His job was to look dapper and walk down the aisle with my niece as she held the sign “Uncle Jordy, here comes your girl!” right before I made my grand entrance. They both looked great and did great! Simba didn’t bark, jump on anyone, or sniff anyone, or everything he came into contact with. He was a very good dog. We trained him well. No one was scared of him and everyone thought he was just too cute! Simba actually was at the wedding rehearsal the day before so he had plenty of practice before his debut. I am so proud of him and I’m in love with the pictures below!

Thank you all for the well wishes! I really appreciate every single word. I couldn’t wait to share the lovely photos with all of you! Here’s a video of our big day as well! I hope you enjoy!

Ohhhh I am crying!!! THIS WAS SO BEAUTIFUL! This was by far my FAVORITE POST OF YOURS!!! CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU AGAIN! I ADORE John Legend (I have a horrible crush on him lol). You looked GORGEOUS, your hubby looks like a sweetheart and your little girl is just precious!
My step daughter included her 2 dogs in her wedding 2 years ago and it went off without a hitch. I love when I see people do that.
Your video was just fabulous, they did such a good job that it looks as if John was at your wedding! lol Simba looked sooooooooooooo handsome! That outfit was just the cutest ever. A world of congratulations and best of luck to you both! Thank you for sharing that with us!

Awww Caren! Thanks so much! I love John Legend as well. We walked down the aisle to the “All of Me” song playing in the video. His entire new album is just awesome. I can listen to it over and over again. Thanks so much for your kind words. That’s awesome that your step daughter included her 2 dogs in her wedding. It’s really great to have the dog apart of something so special. Simba’s outfit was one of his first outfits I bought him! We removed the bow tie that was originally attached to it and simply put the red bow tie collar on him so we could attach his leash. Thanks again!
