Back in my day all of the kids loved Nickelodeon’s green slime. Everyone wanted to go on the show Double Dare and get slimed or see someone be slimed. Now all the kids want to actually make slime! But what’s a SAFE way to make slime? I’ve heard some horror stories of using borax to make slime so I wanted to make sure we stayed far away from it. First we tried a $5 DIY slime kit that was an absolute fail. Once we made it the slime wasn’t very slimey at all. The mixture was too liquidy and we couldn’t make it get more firm. Although it was a total fail, the kids still enjoyed doing such a fun craft.

So are you wondering how to make slime without borax too? We have an easy DIY slime recipe for you to use!
Kid-Friendly Slime Recipe
Stay away from the $5 slime kits that don’t really work and just make your own slime! Or you can pick a slime kit that really works if you’d rather just have a kit instead of buying all items separately. We didn’t mind buying the items separately so here is the best slime recipe we have tried so far! We are using an Elmer’s slime recipe which uses super simple slime ingredients. Find out what we used to make slime below.
Slime Ingredients:
1/2 tbsp of baking soda
1 tbsp of contact lens solution
4 fl oz Elmer’s White school glue
Colored dye or food coloring

Looking for kids channels to subscribe to for your child on YouTube? Our oldest daughter has really been into making videos so we decided to make the girls their very own YouTube channel! I’m so glad they are both at the age where they can both do fun crafts and truly enjoy each other’s company. I love their bond and watching them grow up. If you liked both of the videos above, make sure you click HERE to subscribe to their channel. Jordyn and Joia love to learn, laugh, and play! Join them on their journey of learning and using their imagination while playing with toys. It’s a family-friendly channel where you can find kids educational content, play time, fun crafts, gymnastics, kids book reviews, kids movie reviews, and more.
