As moms, we are always on the go even if we are at home more these days. There is always something we need to do and it seems that our to-do list will never end. On top of all of the other things we have to remember, we have to remind ourselves that we must take time to care for ourselves! Drinking more water is definitely a good start, but it can be hard.

mom to-do list

One of my goals in 2021 is to drink more water. 2020 definitely threw me for a loop and it was easy to let go of my routines. I’ve been on the struggle bus when it comes to exercise and my water intake, but I’m getting myself together and hopefully, I can help you too! If you’re struggling to drink as much water as you should, I have 4 simple ways to drink more water.

Start Your Day Off With Water

The simplest thing you can do to drink more water is to start your day off by drinking water. Simple enough right? Fill up your water bottle before bed and sit it right there on the nightstand. When you wake up and before you step foot out of your bed, drink some water. You’re welcome!

But seriously, drinking water the first thing in the morning makes me feel so much better. It helps me start the day off right and reminds me right then and there that I need to drink my water today, consistently. Drinking water as soon as I get up gives me the energy I need to start my day because water does a body good, forget milk!

When You’re Thirsty Drink Water

Instead of grabbing soda or juice from the fridge, try filling up your water bottle and taking a sip or two of that instead. When you’re thirsty, you should drink water to quench your thirst anyway, not that sugary or caffeinated stuff. Now don’t get me wrong, I drink other things from time to time, but nothing quenches my thirst quite like water does!

Let water be the first thing you choose. Set a goal for yourself of how much water you’d like to drink a day. Start small at first and then increase it until you reach your goal. You’ll get there!

Use a Motivational Water Bottle

Sometimes we just need a little motivation! Get yourself a water bottle that tells you that you’re almost done or to keep going! A motivational water bottle will help you stay on track and help you meet your goals. It will also remind you of the importance of water and to take a sip every now and then whether you’re in work mode or mommy mode or both!

There are plenty of motivational water bottles to choose from. You can pick a water bottle with times which will help you drink more water. You can also get the water bottles in different sizes from a whole gallon to something smaller like a 32 oz. There are so many options to choose from! and will give you the push you need.

Set Reminders on Your Phone

As moms, we are often in our zones trying to get things checked off of our long to-do lists. Sometimes, we may forget to drink water as much as we should. It happens! Simply set reminders or alarms on your phone or calendar that will remind you. Set a reminder every hour or as often as you’d like.

There are also water reminder apps out there that not only remind you to drink more water but also keep track of your water intake and more. Just search “water reminder” in your phone’s app store.

I hope this helps you drink more water mama! If you want someone to cheer you on, use the hashtag #mamaneedsmorewater on Instagram. Let’s support each other mamas!
