6 Ways to Celebrate Your Dog’s Birthday
My dog Simba just turned 10 years old this year! We celebrate his birthday every year. Sometimes it’s something small and other times we go all out. We celebrated his birthday this year by putting up a few decorations and having a dog birthday party online on our Instagram and TikTok.
Thanks to everyone that joined us! We had over 100 people come through and say happy birthday and watch Simba open his presents. If you missed it, here’s the video.
Now that you’re all caught up on how I celebrated my dog’s 10th birthday, here are a few ideas to help you plan a celebration for your dog’s birthday.
Show Your Dog Lots of Attention
First things first, show your dog an extra amount of attention on this special day! I don’t care if you feel like you already give your dog an insane amount of attention… x it by 2 🙂 All the cuddles, scratchies, treats (in moderation of course), walks, and all the things your dog likes are needed. That’s a good boy (or girl) and they totally deserve it!
Give Your Dog Gifts
What’s your dog’s favorite thing? Get that! Or you can try something new. See a new toy they might be interested in? Dog doesn’t like toys? How about a new comfy dog bed or personalized blanket. How about a dog camera that dispenses treats when you’re away?
Treat Your Dog With a Special Treat
Try baking a cake or some treats for your dog. I baked my dog a cake for his first birthday. I’m no baker so the cake definitely didn’t look good, but my dog enjoyed every single bite and really that’s all that matters right? Don’t feel like baking or it’s not really your thing? Well, you need some Bark Organix in your life like right now!

Good at whipping up something in the kitchen for your dog? Yeah, me either LOL. That’s why I like fresh-cooked dog food from Pet Plate! It’s also a Black-Owned Business that delivers healthy fresh-cooked dog food straight to your door.
Simba absolutely loves every single signature entree and they have a variety even for the pickiest of eaters. You can get a full plan or a topper plan to mix it with your dog’s current food.

Throw Your Dog a Birthday Party
Get your family together and throw a birthday party for your dog! There are plenty of places to get birthday decorations for your dog’s birthday from PetSmart to Amazon. You can also get number balloons for the low at Dollar General.
Once you have all of the decorations, grab the family and have a pawty! Your dog will love all of the attention and have so much fun.

Have a Dog Playdate
Invite another dog over and let your dog get some much-needed energy out with a friend. Simba always has a good time when another dog is around. He loves to be around other dots. If your dog is the same a dog playdate is a perfect way to say happy birthday!

Celebrate Your Dog’s Birthday at a Pet-Friendly Location
Find some pet-friendly restaurants in your area that serves dogs too and have a birthday outing with your dog. You can be social with friends and you both can enjoy a nice meal. Your dog will also enjoy people-watching and good vibes.
You could also take your dog on a staycation in the area or go visit somewhere like the beach or some other spot you’ve been meaning to go to. Just make sure there are plenty of pet-friendly places so your dog can truly enjoy it.

We hope these dog birthday ideas were helpful! I know your dog is going to have an absolutely amazing birthday. Have fun!
