Happy 1st Birthday Simba!

Well hello, Simba here!  I’m taking over the blog today because it’s my birthday and I’ll blog if I want to! Hehe. I’ve been waiting for this day all month and it’s finally here! I was born on March 21, 2012 which makes me ONE today.  Did you know that is 15 in human years!? Mom is making a really big deal about how old that is and how I turned into a teenager in a blink of an eye.  Let’s not even get started on how she kept saying I looked like a lil’ man when I finally got a schnauzer cut! Oh brother. How to Make a Dog Cake

Now let’s get back to the birthday activities of the day! Mommy baked me a dog cake!  It has all safe doggie ingredients.  My mommy isn’t a baker and I was a tad bit scared to try her cake…ha just kidding  I’d eat anything.  I want stuff I’m not supposed to have all the time, but I  never get it! Like, I never ever get to eat any birthday cake, but I guess this is different because it’s MY birthday.  Oh yeah and the fact that it’s a DOG cake so I guess I get to have it all to myself.  I mean there aren’t any other furkids in the house just the fishies so…yay! More cake for me.  Oh wait, you guys are welcome to have some if you’d like!  Never sneak and eat any of the human cake unless you want to have a tummy ache and possibly have to take a trip to the vet.

Mommy bought a box of banana puppy cake mix from  Harris Teeter for $5.99.

 

Here is what mommy had to do to make the cake:

Preheat oven to 350 F.
In a medium mixing bowl, stir Banana cake Mix with the egg, oil, and water until smooth.
Scoop batter equally into the pan.
Bake for 20-24 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean.
Cool completely before frosting.

Looks simple enough right?  Mommy did an outstanding job! I love it!  I wanted to eat the whole cake, but mommy said I had to save some for later.  I guess I can’t get everything I want for my birthday!

Pawty Over Here

I had a mini birthday pawty with my family.  Everyone sang happy birthday to me!  That was a first and I felt so special.  There were cool decorations put up just for me and I even got this cool blue party hat.  I’ve always wanted to wear one of those!  Mommy bought me a nice polo shirt to wear on my bark day!  I also played with a couple of new toys and got lots of attention and belly rubs. All eyes were on me today…well actually all eyes are always on me because I steal the show, but I just felt like eyes were really on me today!  Hey, it’s my birthday and I can be spoiled and feel how I want to! Tehehe.

You know what would’ve been really cool? If you guys were here to pawty with me! Maybe next time I can have some of you guys over to pawty!  It’s always a pawsome time when furiends are around.  Thanks to all of you guys who have already wished me a happy birthday and thanks to everyone wishing me a happy birthday now!  I appreciate it.  My day was totally pawsome.  I can’t wait to have my 2nd birthday!  I bet mommy is gonna really freak out then because I’ll be 24 in human years then. BOL!  All in all I had a fantastic birthday!  I can’t wait to do it all over again!  I’m a real pawty animal!
