Fun Nicknames for My Dog

Everyone has nicknames for their pet right?  It’s not totally weird is it?  I don’t think giving your dog a nickname is weird at all.  My dog is apart of my family so giving him nicknames came with ease.  Everyone in the house has a nickname or two so it was only right to crown Simba with his.  I didn’t sit there and think of a nickname to give my dog…it sort of just rolled off my tongue one day.  I have so many nicknames for my dog!  Do you think a dog can have too many nicknames?  I don’t!

A lot of my dog’s nicknames simply come from his name Simba.  The very first nickname I probably gave Simba was “Simby”.  It was just a cutesy way to say his name.  I also call him “Sim-Sim” or simply “Sim”.  Another nickname of his is “Sim-Simma” which might be my favorite for him.  I’m a music lover so this particular dog nickname came from the song “Girls Dem Sugar” by Beenie Man Feat. Mya.  Lyrics to various songs always pop in my head and come to me in different situations LOL so this was PERF!  Oh how I love music.  “Music is life, that’s why our hearts have beats”…oooouuuu!

I also call Simba nicknames that don’t have a thing to do with his name, but everything to do with his personality.  “Greedybutt” is a good nickname for most dogs probably, but especially for this one.  In the post My Dog Will Work for Treats I touch on how greedy my dog is so you see how he got that nickname.  Simba may just be the greediest dog I know.  This is him ALL DAY ER’DAY:

This is probably pretty gross, but I KNOW that all dog owners go through this.  Simba’s dog farts are absolutely the most smelly dog farts I’ve ever smelled in my whole entire life.  I’m probably over exaggerating because I actually haven’t smelled any others LOL, but still.  Due to his stinky dog farts, he gets called “Smelly” and “Stinky” from time to time.  The last nickname for my dog is just “Dog”.  My baby girl calls him “dog” simply because she can’t pronounce his name yet.

Dog nicknames are super awesome and if you haven’t given your dog a nickname yet you should.  It’s fun!  Think of a nickname that’s cute or fun or simply just a shorter form of your pet’s name. Don’t worry…your dog will get used to you calling him by his nickname and come to you whenever you call him by it.  Simba knows all of his nicknames and he probably will end up with more.  My sister even gave him a nickname which is “Simbalina” or as Madea would say “Simbalineeeer”…don’t ask because I don’t know LOL.
