Take us back to the beach! Summer will be ending soon and I’m kinda sad about it. I wish I would have been able to go back to the beach one more time. Of course I can go to the beach in other seasons too, but it’s just something about that Summer beach time. The kids and I are going to miss the Summer and Simba is too. We fully welcome the Fall though…it’s the Winter that we don’t like much. Personally, I just hate being cold. Oh well. Bye bye Summer.
Taking My Dog to the Beach
My dog’s first time at the beach was an interesting one. I took my dog to the beach for the first time back in May and as I expected he wasn’t feeling the water. How are you going to go to a beautiful beach and not enjoy the water a bit? Simba is just not a water dog AT ALL. He just simply does not like water so we pretty much gazed at the water from afar for the most part. I let him get his paws wet to see if he’d have a change of heart, but nah. I guess he’s more of a sand man. He didn’t mind walking around on the beach or chillin’ in the sand. Simba would enjoy another beach trip as long as he doesn’t have to go near the water.
Has your dog been to the beach? How was his experience? Share in the comments below! We’d love to hear from you!

Shasta loved the beach. He has been to both dog beaches in San Diego and Pismo Beach.
The boys have never been to a beach before but we hope to remedy that when we move to the Houston area! Galveston is not far so we will definitely let them get their paws wet.
Nope, the Basset in my household is not into the beach water either. Like, Simba, she likes to sniff all the interesting bits in the sand. Mom says she sniffs out dead crabs, birdies & seaweeds that have washed up on shore. Eew! As for me, I’ve never been the to beach. I wouldn’t mind walking the sands, but would stay clear of the water so my lush fur doesn’t get wet. Mew Mew & purrs to you Miss Kia!

The beach is our BFF – that’s one of the reasons I was so “ready” to move to Charleston – I am surrounded by them! Fall is cool, and my winters are never really brutal so I’m loving all the seasons now.
