Have you ever wondered what your dog was up to while you were away? Since we have recently started leaving Simba out of his kennel I have been wondering just what he is up to while I’m at work.

How to Use the Petcube Play
The Petcube is very easy to use and setup. It is beautifully designed and compact to place anywhere you’d like inside of your home. It has a rubber non-slip bottom and a standard tripod mount so there are plenty of ways you could set it up. We have ours set up in our living room without a tripod. It sits on a small side table giving us a good view of where Simba usually likes to chill in the living room. Simply place the Petcube on a flat surface like a table or a shelf. You can also make it sit up higher with a standard tripod.
To setup your Petcube Play all you have to do is download the Petcube app and sign up. After you’re all signed up simply connect your Petcube to a power source and connect your Petcube to the app by following the onscreen instructions. There is only ONE cord for setup which makes setting it up easy peasy! For more information view the user guide that comes with it for step by step instructions. Take a look at this how to video below to see how easy it will be to setup. For more Petcube Play support click HERE.

What We Think About the PetCube
We are loving it! The feature that I absolutely love the most is the 2-way audio. I can hear what Simba is doing and he can hear me. If I miss him I can simply open the app and see what he’s up to and talk to him for a while. He was so happy to hear my voice! I can even give him a little fun and have him play with the laser. You’d think a dog would not be interested in playing with a laser, but it definitely got his attention. He wondered what the laser was and followed it around. So cool! Also family and friends can check in on Simba and play with him too. That is an awesome feature!
Besides the Petcube being super cool, it totally saved Simba from being in big trouble. We accidentally forgot to take a bag of trash outside on our way to work and Simba had total access to it. I remembered as we were pretty close to work and decided to open the Petcube app to see if Simba had gotten into the bag yet. Sure enough he had.
I could hear the bag rumbling, but Simba could also hear me tell him to stop and to get in his bed. He immediately stopped what he was doing and went to his bed and stayed there until we were able to get him and take the bag outside. I was able to watch him the whole time until we arrived home and was able to take the trash out. I’m so thankful that we had the Petcube set up! There were all kinds of thing in the trash bag that he could’ve gotten into like chicken bones which aren’t safe for him at all. Thanks Petcube!
The Petcube has been a lifesaver for us as you can see. It’s great for our family because the hubs and I work full-time so we can always see what Simba is up to. We have no problems letting Simba roam free in the house especially since we can see check in and can also stop him from being mischievous by talking to him. We think the Petcube is awesome especially for the pet parent that is on the go. If you’d like to check on your pet while you’re away, talk to them, and even play with them then this is the pet camera for you!

I totally want to try a petcube. I love the whole concept of it!
Hahahaha! Caught in the act! That’s a great testimonial to watching out for the fur-kids. The petcube sounds like it would make being away much saver for pets and offer their humans peace of mind.
I’m sold! I leave Gonzo and Beau crated while we’re gone because they get mad and act out. (Gonzo literally ate my couch in 20 minutes). Just a thought, but I could even have used this as a nanny cam when my children have a babysitter.
Hahaha! I just have to wonder what Simba was thinking when he could hear you but not SEE you! I want a pet cube now! Thanks for telling us about it and the cute story!

I love, love, love my Petcube Play! I checked in on my girls several times a day when I was at BlogPaws, and I even got to play with Lexy with the laser toy. It definitely gave me peace of mind to see that they were doing ok.
Sounds like a great little camera to keep an eye on your pup. I love everything except the laser part. We learned the hard way years ago how dangerous that laser pointers can be for some dogs. After speaking with a vet and a behavioral specialist, it was very clear to them that playing with our cat’s laser pointer is what led to our Border Collie/Lab mix’s sudden anxiety and neurosis. He’s been chasing lights and shadows ever since. While our other dogs had no issues, I try to warn everyone that I can about the danger of laser pointers. We had no idea and I’d do anything to go back in time.
It sounds like it saved you from a big vet bill! Mr. N has separation anxiety so I like to try to keep an eye on him while we’re gone but our current system is not super efficient.

What a great concept. I saw this on Instagram. This would also make for a fabulous birthday or holiday gift idea for pet owners. When I adopt again, I would totally invest in one. Thanks for sharing.
This seems like a great way to help relieve the pet parent’s anxiety when she is away from her pets! It would be totally worth the expense if you had to leave your pet home alone a lot.

I heard rumor that you could set it up so the public could stop by and watch shelter animals. I would LOVE to do that with my foster kittens.
