Plan Out Your Fitness Goals
I promise you this will make your fitness life so much easier! Figure out what you can accomplish in a week. Write it down in a fitness journal or jot it down on a notes app on your phone. Start off small so you don’t get overwhelmed. This will take some trial and error until you get it right. Currently, my fitness goals for the week is to get 10,000 steps 5 times a week and to work out at least 3 times a week.
When I figured out what my fitness goals were, I basically mapped out my day to help me reach those goals. For example, I try to make sure I already have 1,000+ steps before I leave the house every morning. I also try to choose days where I know I’m not going to be as busy to get a home workout in. I usually don’t try to make Mondays a workout day because I know I’ll be getting home later because baby girl has ballet practice.
Find a Workout Accountability Partner
Find someone to be there for you and cheer you on! If you have someone working out with you, it makes working out more enjoyable. Sometimes people can be flaky though right? What really holds me accountable is my Fitbit Charge 2! It reminds me to walk every hour, tells me how close I am to my goals, challenges me, and more!
I love my Fitbit because it’s basically my accountability partner and I don’t have to worry about it flaking on me unless I forget to charge it! I also try to share that I’ve reached my goal for the day on our @MeetTheChambers Instagram stories to also hold me accountable and give others some fitness motivation. So if you don’t have a fitness tracker you should definitely think about getting one. It’s super helpful. Add me as a friend on Fitbit by clicking HERE.
Workout at Home
Don’t like hitting the gym, don’t have time to, or don’t want to pay that monthly gym membership fee? No worries, just workout at home! I enjoy working out at home because it’s convenient for me. Start with an easy exercise at home. My favorite way to workout at home is by using YouTube workout videos. The workout YouTube channels that I like the most is Superhero Fitness TV and POPSUGAR Fitness.
PopSugar Fitness has all kinds of workouts from boxing to dance. They actually have a new dance fitness series they just created that I’ll be trying soon called Dance FitSugar. I like that they have such a variety from beginner to advanced. I definitely recommend this channel if you’re looking for all kinds of workouts to do at home.
Ever heard of Tabata training? I like Tabata workouts because you give an exercise move all you’ve got for 20 seconds and then you rest for 10 seconds for a total of 4 rounds. It’s a really good workout! I found out about Hip Hop Tabata workouts from PopSugar and Keaira LaShae of Superhero Fitness TV was leading it. Keairra LaShae is so bomb! Her workouts are fun because it’s basically a hip hop dance workout so you really don’t even feel like you’re working out. If you like to dance around you’ll love her workouts. She also has some other workouts that don’t involve dancing and the workouts have simple exercises to do at home.
To make working out at home easy for me, I use the YouTube app on my Firestick and get to it right in my living room or bedroom. I simply started adding all my favorite YouTube workout videos to a workout playlist and I’ll just choose one that I want to do and get it poppin’! Here are some of the best YouTube workout videos that I like to do:

Walk at Work
Walking while I’m at work really helps me meet my fitness goals. Sometimes I may just have way too many things to do after work so getting the majority if not all of my steps in while at work is awesome. How can you get some exercise in at work? It’s quite simple. Do some things differently. Be intentional. Park at the back of the parking lot instead of trying to find a close parking space at the front. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Walk during your 15-minute breaks. Walk during half of your lunch break.
I can usually get 10,000 steps or close to it before coming home from work. Walking while at work is a must for me. It helps me reach my fitness goals with ease. Get up from that desk and walk every hour if you can. Walk with a co-worker and chit chat instead of chatting it up in the breakroom. Challenge your co-worker and see who can get the most steps for the week. It will help you stay on track and you’ll get used to walking more. You can do it!
Let Your Child Workout with You
Feeling like you can’t get a workout in because of your kids? Let your kids join in on the workout fun! My baby girl WANTS to workout with me. When she sees me doing a YouTube workout or jogging in place she joins in. She’ll copy what I’m doing and she thinks it’s so fun. Try it!
Another thing you can do is put on some Kids Bop, the radio, or someone they are crazy about like JoJo Siwa and dance! Baby girl loves to dance and it’ll keep her busy and wear her out! Working out together will benefit you and your child. You’re spending quality time together, he’s not stopping you from working out, and he’s getting fit like mommy. Win-win!
See, busy mom workouts are possible! Now, excuse me while I go get some more steps in! Good luck on your fitness journey!
