But whoever really is?
My birth story goes a little something like this…
Labor and Delivery Vlog
For those of you who would rather SEE my birth story instead of reading it…view it below. But just know I may spill some tea in this post about how to have a fast labor and delivery! Or at the very least how to get the party started…I’m just saying…it worked for me LOL
Labor and Delivery | Natural Birth | NO EPIDURAL
On January 24th we welcomed our baby boy into the world! After my water broke, I had him TWO HOURS LATER! His birth happened so fast that there was no time f…
Birth Story
My water broke at around 11:50 PM on Jan 23rd. I was just chillin’ in the bed having what I thought to be Braxton Hicks after the hubs and I did the do on the birthing ball. You did what on what? Yes, you read that right. You know, they say sex brings on labor…I saw the birthing ball mentioned in my birth group. There was some discussion about how it took the pressure off by using the birthing ball during sex and boy did it work!
Anyways, we hadn’t had sex in days because it was just too much pressure and my midwife said it was because my baby’s head was low and super-engaged (I was 3.5 CM and 70% dilated on January 21st). So we decided to try the birthing ball to relieve the pressure. Later, we were just joking around about me going into labor right then while my husband was home and not at work.
I thought it would be just my luck that he would be at work about an hour away and I’d go into labor and be all panicky and whatnot. I so didn’t want that to happen! We both agreed we weren’t quite ready for him to make his debut yet though…maybe in about another week. Tuhhh!
Fast Labor
So back to me chillin’ on the bed and feeling what I thought to be braxton hicks, but were real-life contractions! All of a sudden I felt something that felt like a rubber band pop in my stomach and I was like WHAT WAS THAT? Was that a weird kick or my water breaking? I didn’t feel a gush or anything…
My water didn’t break with my first child so I was so confused about what was happening. I went to the bathroom and came back and sat on the bed and then the gush of water happened. From there, everything went extremely fast. Like, if we didn’t rush to the hospital when we did…I could have had this baby at the house or in the car!
We got to the hospital around 12:15 AM. I was in a room at 12:30 AM. I got checked and was 5.5 CM dilated. My contractions were HORRIBLE. I felt them all in my back and butt so I knew ish was about to get real. I already told them I wanted an epidural. When we got in the main labor room they hooked me up to an IV and all that jazz and told me they were getting my labs so I could get an epidural.
Natural Birth
WHEW! MAMA WE MADE IT!
SIKE…
My contractions were getting worse and worse…like PAIN LEVEL 9. I was feeling the urge to push and they checked me again and I was 10CM dilated. I didn’t have time to get an epidural. The baby was coming. They told me not to push yet because my midwife nor a doctor was not there yet…
I kept telling them bruh, I gotta push…basically somebody was gonna catch this baby whether it be the midwife or not. Always, always, always make sure the medical staff listens to you!
I was screaming like a madwoman because the pain was so intense and it was all just happening so fast. One of the nurses was like “use all that yelling for pushing. You don’t have to yell” chile…I wanted to punch her in the throat.
I ignored her and they got ALL THE SCREAMS.
My midwife rushed in just in time and in 4 pushes baby boy was here at 1:53AM!
Baby boy took us on a wild ride at 37 weeks and 6 days, but we were both totally fine and we were able to leave the hospital the next day around 1 PM.
