Joia turned 6 months on November 13th. We are halfway through her first year of life already! I love to watch her grow, but it also makes me a tad bit sad because it’s happening too fast! A lot of people are starting to say that she looks like both of us now instead of one or the other. I can definitely see features of her daddy and features of me as well. I think she has my facial shape, eyes, and cheeks. She’s a pretty chill baby. She has her moments where she doesn’t want anyone except mommy or daddy, but for the most part she’s good with family and friends. She was able to experience her FIRST Thanksgiving which was pretty cool. It will be lovely to see her experience a bunch of other firsts with us.
Growth
She is 26.3 inches and 16.4 She is still wearing size 2 pampers at the moment, but we will be starting on size 3 as soon as her size 2 pampers that we have stashed from the baby shower runs out. She can still fit some 3 month old clothes depending on the brand. She is mostly in 3-6 month clothes and 6-9 month clothes now. Some 3-6 month pants are a little too short so 6-9 month pants is what she wears now.
Feeding
She is drinking 6-8 oz of Similac Advance/Parent Choice throughout the day. We have tried several baby foods with her now such as banana, green beans, carrots, peas, apples, and sweet potatoes all are stage 1 foods. She loves all of the fruits and the sweet potatoes, but we are still working on her veggies. She seems to love the carrots, but not the beans so much. We are still practicing baby sign language with her with the sign “more” so if she wants more of something she can sign it eventually. We will move her on to stage two foods when she begins to sit up better on her own.

Sleeping
It’s hit or miss with if she wakes up once through the night or if she sleeps the entire time. Sometimes she will wake up at least once during the night. Sometimes it’s for a feeding and other times it’s because she can’t find her pacifier to put it back in her mouth so once I put it back in she goes right back to sleep. Other times it’s because her pamper needs to be changed and then I give her the pacifier and she’s right back to sleep. She no longer sleeps in the rock n play because she is much too long for it. She now sleeps in the pack n play and she does great in that ever since we made the pack n play more comfortable. Sometimes she may wake up and cry and all she wants is to sleep in our bed because as soon as I pick her up and lay her in our bed, she falls right back to sleep. Eventually we want to move her to her crib which is not in our room at all.
Teething
I think she is starting to teeth, but there are no teeth just yet. I can see a little white spot and also a red spot on her gums. She is also gnawing on things more so I’m sure we will see a tooth pop up soon.

My Postpartum Update
Everything is fine with me…I’m just being a slacker in the weight department. I have never been a dedicated fitness person, but I’m going to get my life together one of these days LOL
