Your anniversary or some other special day is coming up, but it’s on a weekday. Boo! Weekdays are usually way too busy for you. Of course, you could just celebrate the weekend before or the weekend after, but what if you don’t want to? Have a at-home date night! These ideas are perfect if you can’t make it out of the house for whatever reason (like a whole pandemic!) or because you don’t have a babysitter.
Date Night In Ideas
These at-home date night ideas are also great for special occasions or just regular smegular days as well. We don’t get many date nights out on the town alone so we have to be creative! Put the kiddos to bed early and have some fun right at home. Don’t let being at home stop you from having an amazing night with your honey on any day of the week.
Cook Together
Instead of going out to dinner make it yourself. Look up a copycat recipe online of your favorite meal and get to cooking! Bring out the good dishes and set up the dinner in a romantic way. Dim the lights and bring out the candles.
Couple Massages
Give each other massages! I’m sure you’ve had a long day and this is a super relaxing activity with the one you love.
Wine and Paint
Grab your favorite bottle of wine and bring out the paint supplies. Have fun painting something for one another all while enjoying a glass of wine. Want some friendly competition? Paint the same thing and see which is better.
Have a Picnic
Grab a blanket and have an indoor picnic in the middle of your living room. If the weather is nice, take the picnic outside.
Couples Game Night
Invite some other couples over and have a game night. If the couples also have kids then your kids can keep each other entertained. Some fun games to play with couples are Taboo, Heads Up, Just Dance, the Newlywed Game, and Karaoke.

Movie Night
Who doesn’t love watching movies on Netflix? Make it more fun or interesting by going down memory lane. Cuddle up and watch the very first movie you ever watched together.
Dance the Night Away
Create a music playlist together. Once the playlist is complete, turn the music up and dance together to all of the songs!
Watch the Sunset
If it’s not too cold, sit outside and have some good conversation while cuddling and watching the sunset.
Stargaze
Again, if it’s not too cold out…lay down a blanket in your backyard and cuddle up. Have some good conversation while staring at the stars. This seems like the perfect time to discuss your dreams and maybe even create a bucket list of things you want to do together in the future.
Plan Your Dream Vacation
Plan where you want to go together, just the two of you, outside of the home. Decide on the location, what activities you want to do, and some dates to choose from. Make this fun by actually looking up places online while snacking on your favorite snacks.
Some of the things on this list can even be done in combination to make the best at-home date night you have ever had. For example, do idea 3, 1, and then 2 to end the night. I hope these were some helpful at-home date ideas. I plan to do the wine and paint one soon myself!
