‘Tis the season to give thanks for everything you’re thankful for! I’m sure you’re thankful for things every single day, but it’s nice to show your gratitude and let everyone know just what you’re thankful for. There are so many different things to be thankful for including the dogs in our lives. Simba is a part of my family so of course I’m super thankful for my dog! I can’t thank Simba enough for being a part of my life, but I sure try. Are you thankful for your dog?
Disclaimer: This post is sponsored by Purina. I received compensation for this post to spread the word about #DogThanking, but all thoughts are those of ComeWagAlong.com. We always share things that we find beneficial to our readers and things that Simba and I love.
Why I’m Thankful for My Dog
There are so many reasons why I’m thankful for my dog. Simba is my bestie and he takes that position quite seriously. He is there whenever I need him. When I call him he doesn’t hesitate and he comes running. He’s more loyal than anyone I know. If I’m scared (of a bug or something LOL) he will try to protect me. He makes sure I’m never lonely by following me around wherever I go. If I need someone to talk to he’s all ears. Feeling down? He knows how to cheer me up with his silly antics and lots of cuddles. The list goes on and on and on and on and on!
I’m thankful for my dog every single day. I show thanks to him in many ways. He loves belly rubs so I make sure to rub his belly several times a day. Sometimes we will spend extra time outside so he is able to explore more and enjoy the great outdoors. He loves his treats so I love to take him to the store and pick up a new extra special treat for him to enjoy. Life can get pretty hectic, but I make sure that I always make time for him and give him all the attention he needs. He would never ever forget about me so I make sure I don’t forget about him!
Simba is super thankful for the Thanksgiving gift basket from Purina to help him celebrate! As you can see he is loving all of the items in the gift basket.
Show Thanks to Your Dog
Are you thankful for your dog? Of course you are! Thanksgiving is not far away which means it’s the perfect time to reflect on the things in your life that you’re thankful for like your furry friend. Purina wants you to show the world how you thank your dog by participating in their #DogThanking campaign.
This is how you participate in the Purina #DogThanking campaign. Post a picture on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter showing how you thank your pet using the hashtag #DogThanking and tagging @Purina. For every original post submitted through November 27 that includes @Purina and the hashtag, #DogThanking, Purina will donate one dollar to the Canine Health Foundation – up to $50,000 – to help further pet health research.
Submitted videos, photos and posts may be shown during the National Dog Show Presented by Purina, on Thanksgiving Day (Nov.24) on NBC.
Watch the National Dog Show this Thanksgiving!
Will you be watching the National Dog Show on Thanksgiving day? Simba and I definitely will be tuned in. The National Dog Show Presented by Purina, which will premiere on Thanksgiving Day on NBC, will crown one of America’s great dogs as its 2016 champion, bringing canine competition and entertainment to America’s viewers for the 15th year.
This awesome holiday show will be available for your viewing pleasure after the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Make sure you tune in from noon-2PM in all time zones on NBC. If you submitted a video, photo, or post showing how you thank your dog it might just be featured on the show! What a terrific idea! I’m thankful for my dogs every day. I think it is great that this campaign will be used to help study/cure canine cancer.

What a beautiful furbaby! While I’m thankful for my five fuzzies (three dogs and two cats), you’ve inspired me to go and give them extra treats and to carve out some time today to go in the yard and play fetch with my fuzzies. Thank you! Happy Thanksgiving!

Love this post! It’s so important to stop and give thanks, and appreciate what we have. Simba is a cutie and a very lucky pup! I so agree with you – I’m very, very thankful for my dogs. While this is the first Thanksgiving without my one Husky, who crossed to the Rainbow Bridge last December, I’m so thankful he was part of my big FiveSibes family. He lives on in our memories and celebrations for always. My dogs have my heart and everything is so much brighter with them in our family! Wishing you and Simba a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I’m so thankful for my dogs! I’m thankful that Icy and I are a therapy dog team & that we can help people through her visits. I’m thankful to Phoebe for her total devotion, she sticks to me like glue & loves to cuddle! I love taking them on hikes & to new places to explore. I also love bringing them with us wherever dogs are welcome.

Love all the photos! So cute! Your pup is one lucky kiddo to have you for his momma. I too am so thankful for the companionship from all my pets. My man works nights and they keep me and my kids safe at night. They also steal the covers in my bed 😉 haha
